Optimizing Technical Charting Parameters

This invaluable service is rarely offered by traditional trading platforms. Anyone who has ever used technical studies when charting knows that setting the study's parameters to different values can result in very different buy/sell indications.

The iTrade Chart Lab includes a tool called the the GTS Quick Optimizer which finds the best fit or optimal set of parameters for any symbol set for any time interval. Choose a backtesting period and click "Start".

Solutions are displayed immediately. iTrade optimizes dynamically in real time.

Solutions are ranked from high to low based on a Confidence Index which indicates the probability that each solution will achieve the maximum possible profit.

By highlighting a solution and clicking "Apply", the new, optimized parameters are set on the chart study and colored arrows are displayed on the chart indicating the buy and sell points based on the optimization.

With the ability to optimize and to do it with this kind of speed and ease of use, it's hard to imagine why anyone would use a chart study with parameters that have not been optimized.
